Partners Program
Recognizing the large number of Christians working in secular roles overseas in Asia and also the desire of many such committed Christians to relate their witness to a missionary organization, OMF International offers a category of association known as OMF Partners.
What are the benefits for OMF Partners?
- Christian fellowship with OMF members in a relationship of mutual encouragement.
- Counsel and advice regarding living in the host country from those who have studied its people, language and culture.
- A more meaningful role in Christian witness than might otherwise be available.
- On-the-spot experience of missionary outreach while fulfilling a secular work contract.
What are the benefits for OMF?
- Extend our outreach in a given field to help fulfill OMF's overall strategy.
- Provide additional skills, spiritual gifts, expertise, contacts and fellowship.
- Give additional insights, perspectives, vision and wisdom to field strategy and leadership.
- Build a broader base of prayer support and involvement.
What are the terms of association?
OMF Partners is designed only for those committed and qualified Christians who are:
- In sympathy with OMF objectives, ethos and doctrinal position.
- Willing to relate their ministry as tentmakers to overall OMF strategy.
- Willing to sign an agreement with OMF outlining mutual responsibilities to be reviewed and renewed annually.
Would OMF seek secular appointments for interested applicants?
We regret we are unable to provide this service. We are also unable to make this program available to those engaged in the diplomatic service.
What are OMF's responsibilities to Partners?
While recognizing the limitations of OMF facilities and resources and the restriction of the Partner's job assignment, OMF will, as able, seek to:
- Extend counsel and advice.
- Provide fellowship and prayer support through OMF worldwide.
- Provide, when feasible, temporary and vacation hospitality as requested at normal missionary guest rate.
- Make available appropriate OMF communications and materials.
- An invitation to field conferences at personal expense.
