So what do you think happened next?

I asked this question to our Thai staff as we were studying the story of Abraham in the Bible. This question was in the context of Abraham offering his son Isaac on the altar and having him bound, with the knife raised. For two of the staff who had never heard the story before the answer was, "God raised him back to life." There was anticipation as the story was told; this is the very first time that they have heard these stories. What a privilege to be able to tell them! As we have been reading through the Abraham story I have tried to make the point clear that "Abraham believed and it was credited to him as righteousness." It is through faith in Christ Jesus that we are justified, not by works. This is a very important truth for a Thai Buddhist, who is depending on merit to be saved, to comprehend. (David and Tina Cannon, OMF dorm parents at Mountain View Dorm, Chiang Mai)

  • Please pray for the Thai staff in the Chiang Mai dorms: Phet, Duan, Kiang who are yet to come to faith in Christ; and for Saart and Pon, who are believers, as they study these Bible stories together.
  • Pray for the dorm parents, children and staff as they have a 2 week Christmas break - for rest, refreshment, reunion and reflection on Jesus.
