Need to Remember the Rainbows

31/08/2009 1:46 pm

At the Andaman Coast it is middle of monsoon season. This means lots of rain, floods and storms. Fishermen cannot drive out to catch fish, fish sellers are without work, restaurants and hotels are empty for it is the low season. The situation amongst the people here is tense; money is short everywhere. This tension seems to impact the Christians in ACT-S Baan Naam Khem Church as well. Ms. Cau cannot make a living with her laundry business any longer and, instead of joining Sunday services, she stays away. She is deeply distressed, pregnant with her first child, not enough food in the house, many debts. Her brother-in-law, is in a similar situation: no fish, no selling, no income. Others pass this tension on to their fellow Christians, finding fault with everybody and accusing each other. (from Elke Hain, church planting South Thailand)

  • Please pray that this situation becomes a story of God’s glory, help and redemption!
  • Pray for insight for the Christians: for them to remember that God gave them a rainbow at the opening of their building for worship (July ’09 Thai Tempo).
  • Pray for spiritual victory. May the Christians be aware of attacks from the evil one.
  • Pray for wisdom for the missionaries living in the village and throughout area.
