Eddie and Boom - 100% Believers

Two years ago short -term missionary said to me, "I'm going back to the States. I've been sharing Christ with a Thai man named Eddie. Could you meet with him now that I'm leaving?" I was a little hesitant at first because my main role as a dorm parent takes a lot of my time and energy. I finally agreed, and met Eddie and his wife Boom. Eddie was very friendly, and was eager to get together with me. We began meeting once a week for about an hour and a half. It seemed like he did most of the talking! But somehow during our times together, I would direct him to relevant passages in the Bible, and try to answer some of his questions. The nice part about spending time with Eddie was that I didn't feel like I was "pulling teeth" trying to get him to come to my house, but instead Eddie was often initiating in our relationship. After a number of months together, Eddie finally said, "I'm no longer believing 80% like when I first met you - I'm now believing 100%!" Wow, that is great!
Meanwhile, Eddie's wife, Boom, was very friendly to me whenever I would see her, but she was not open to spiritual things. I remember thinking, "She's watching Eddie to see if this change is real." Unbeknownst to me, another missionary woman had befriended Boom, and soon was studying the Bible with her. Then, five months ago, two years after I first met Eddie, I invited Eddie to meet me at an evening church service as I really wanted to see him commit to attending a church regularly. Guess who came with him? Boom, Eddie's wife! And guess who was taking all the notes and drinking in all the teaching? Boom! Last month, Eddie and Boom, came to visit me, and tell me all about the Christian outreach they were doing in their neighborhood with kids. Who else is now a 100% believer? Boom, Eddie's wife! (Scott Tibbetts, Dorm Parent, Chiangmai)
Please pray:
- That Eddie and Boom would put down deep roots in Jesus.
- That God would bless their outreach efforts and bring friends and neighbors to Christ.
