Dreams, Bible Study and other Christians lead to a new Faith

Eid is the househelper at one of the Chiangmai dorms for missionary children and has been studying the Bible with me (dorm mother) for 1 1/2 years. I asked my Christian cook, Tui, what she thought I should get Eid for her birthday in January. Tui suggested I get her some Christian books, so one of the books I gave her was I Dared to Call Him Father (in Thai), a fascinating book written by a Muslim woman in Pakistan who became a Christian. Part of her journey to Christ involved some amazing dreams. Shortly after reading the books, Eid had 3 significant dreams herself over 3 nights:
The first night she dreamt that her Christian sister gave her a Bible and Eid thought, "I already have a Bible like that". The second night, Eid dreamt that people were running around in confusion, but she was standing in the middle of them holding a Bible to her chest and at peace. The third night, Eid dreamt that she was saying "Thessalonika, Thessalonika, Thessalonika." Eid woke up and remembered that I Thessalonians is the book of the Bible she and I had been reading together that week during our Bible study. Eid immediately read through both books. She was particularly impressed by I Thessalonians 5:24, "The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it," as well as "From the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." (II Thessalonians 2:13b-14) Eid told me, "God is calling me!...I could dismiss one dream or two dreams as coincidence, but not three dreams."
Since those dreams Eid has been regularly reading her Bible. Sometimes she doesn't feel like reading, but when she thinks of her dreams, she’s inspired to read. When Eid comes to work at our house, she often asks Tui, our Christian cook, questions and shares what she is learning. In early February Tui asked Eid if she had received Christ as her Savior yet. Eid said, "How do I do that?" Tui told Eid that she should get on her knees, confess her sin and welcome Jesus to come and live in her. That night Eid did just that!
Eid wondered if she had said the right words and needed assurance that the Holy Spirit had come into her life. That night, Eid dreamt that she was riding her motorcycle down a road. She came to a sign that said "The road is closed" so she had to turn off to the right. This new road was full of holes, very muddy and was difficult to navigate. Then Eid saw a large truck driving ahead. She thought, "If I follow that truck, it's wheels will make the road smoother for me." But as she tried to follow, her motorcycle started to skid, and she began to slide into a ditch. She was terrified! But, suddenly, her motorcycle shot back up onto the road and Eid exclaimed, "Thank you, God!” She felt totally at peace. All fear was gone. When she analyzed the dream, Eid felt that it was saying that her life is going in a new direction, but the new direction will not be easy. Satan will attack her, but the Holy Spirit is with her and He will protect her and give her peace. (Jen Tibbetts, Chiangmai Dorm)
- Pray that Eid will grow in her relationship with the Lord and that her life will shine to her siblings, her husband, her daughter, Pat, and her community.
- Pray that God would reveal Himself through dreams, the Bible and the witness of Christians to many more throughout the country.
- Pray for more laborers to take the Word of God and a living witness to those towns and villages that do not yet have a church.
