God deserves to be worshipped in Prey Tia

Prey Tia lies 15 km west of Phnom Penh: 10 years ago it was a small village of wooden houses on stilts surrounded by rice fields. Today, row upon row of concrete terraces have been built to house the 20,000 factory workers who have migrated here. Large extended families live, eat & sleep in one room. Joseph and Danielle and Kesara make up the Prey Tia OMF team! They are focusing on building relationships: visiting people’s homes and inviting them to join together to learn about God in small groups. There are three key groups which meet once a week: Children; Youth; and Workers’. A core group of believers also meet on Sundays to worship God together.

Kesara met Neang Neuen quite by accident (God’s design!) when her motodop broke down; whilst waiting for repairs she started sharing the gospel. She soon discovered that Neang Neuen had become a Christian in the 1970s whilst living in a Thai refugee camp, but she was no longer linked in to a fellowship. Neang Neuen’s life is difficult: her husband has taken another wife and she can no longer remain in the family home. She has had to move out of Prey Tia but she is still committed to attending the Sunday worship there.

Please pray:

  • for growth in maturity and faith for those attending groups
  • for Neang Neuen to remain faithful to God; pray that she and others would see God's power at work amidst difficulties
